6. Papercraft Objects: First prototype

Image
Paper template on Rhino:   This is a magic necklace inspired by a manga called "sugar sugar rune." And here is the first prototype. So I found out there are few things have to adjust.  -The scale of the whole prototype, now is too big.  -Second is the scale of the heart on the middle, it's way too big, and it is suppose have to fit with the cover. -The fold lines have to redesign, as it is all different, and it is too difficult to fold.

Meticulously Handcrafted Paper Objects by Zim & Zou.        Zim & Zou, also known as Lucie Thomas and Thibault Zimmermann, are a skilled paper crafting couple that specialise in creating handmade items out of various materials like paper, thread, wood, and leather. They produce original posters, editorial illustrations, and window displays. Along with work for the SXSW Film Festival and Hermès Maison Shanghai, some of their most recent projects include a poster for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to promote childhood immunisations.      This piece is called "Winter Village." Most of the pieces made by Zim and Zou are colorful. And this one did not use many colors, but, amazingly, they used dark colors can still create a holiday vibe. I think this piece is more like Christmas Eve, as it used dark blue, and using complementary colors, pink as decoration, and this makes the house and lights pop out, even if it is just using paper, it looks like a real light.  Monster Burger     This is the piece I chose from the last post. Through the class feedback, the monster burger was one of the most eye catching piece in my last post. And it is my favourite piece also, so I decided to use it for mesh editing. Concept from the last post:      Class Feedback:     Make more texture, like on the bun and the burger.      Make more movement, like opening the mouth.     Put in a darker background, make the piece pops out. Final piece:      This time I make the burger open the mouth, which shows the ingredients. To make more texture, I used MeshMixer to separate the peel of the tomato, by using glass as the material on the centre of tomato, to create the juicy texture. For the burger(meat) part, I also used MeshMixer to create uneven texture. some details: different setting:
